I’ve only managed to complete one sample for submission for the International Diploma in Crochet over the last month and this is it…
The requirement was for ‘a strip of crochet approximately 7.5 cm / 3 inches at the base and commencing with the shortest stitch work four rows of each basic stitch finishing with four rows of quadruple treble’.
I was nearly caught out as of course the shortest possible stitch is slip stitch but I didn’t think of this initially and started with double crochet (US single crochet). Luckily I realised in time!
This sample has been submitted and I received the results this week which were that it has passed and the comments were very positive. The comments were that the ‘sample indicates how difficult it is to keep an even tension when working the very long trebles- well done!’
And of course the sample clearly demonstrates how different in width, as well as of course height, the various crochet stitches are.
More learning for me for sure!
Happy crocheting Everyone! 🙂
Congratulations!
Thank you! 🙂
Brilliant, so much to learn!
What a super record of your crochet progress. This one looks tricky! I sometimes end up with a gap between the chain and first stitch so make my chain one shorter, especially when using a heavier yarn. You seem to have avoided this completely!!!
Awww, Thank you! I’m finding it useful to record my progress on this blog-it also motivates me too which is good!
Well done. It seems this diploma is pretty tricky just interpreting what they want, let alone making it!
You’re right there! But it’s good for me – making me crochet in ways I wouldn’t have before! 🙂
I’d agree there. It really does look like it makes you think and learn 🙂
That’s great. I’ll bet you learn a lot of new tips, tricks and skills.
I nominated you for the ” One Lovely Blog Award”, btw. 🙂 http://craftsmodiale.com/2016/01/19/one-lovely-blog-award/
Thank you so much for the nomination! I’ve looked at some of the other blogs too which is great. I’m not going to take part in the award process this time but have done a quick post linking back to your lovely blog! Thanks so much 🙂
