I’ve been writing (and reading) blog posts for around 6 months now and I’m really enjoying the sharing of ideas and inspiration from around the world. Isn’t it amazing that we can make something which we share via our blogs and people from far flung destinations can see, comment and be inspired within minutes of posting- amazing!
And something I wouldn’t have known about if it wasn’t for other bloggers sharing is the WONDERFUL book ‘Let’s Go Camping! Crochet your own adventure’ by Kate Bruning
I heard about this book from two other bloggers and I’m sure many of you will have discovered it too by now:

I ordered my copy and have decided to give it to my daughter for Christmas but when commenting on Sewchet’s blog post I came up with the idea to crochet a little sample from the book to give with the book. Seeing a little ready made piece will hopefully compel my daughter to get making!
So here it is…
Isn’t it gorgeous?! Such a sweet little sailing boat which was super quick to make. I’m sure she’ll be delighted and can get crocheting the rest of her camping adventure at Christmas time…
The book has fabulous patterns to create a whole ‘Swallows and Amazons’ camping scene. Throughout the book the author uses Playmobil figures to model the tents, boats, caravan and even a canal boat. But I thought my daughter’s Sylvanian’s could do a good job too!
Stormy, wet and windy weather has arrived on our shores today so it was challenging taking these photos without the little boat blowing away!
I can highly recommend this book 🙂
Happy Crocheting Everyone…
That is adorable. I wonder if I made enough little boats, could I persuade all the Sylvanians to sail away and never return?
🙂
Perfect! Such a lovely thing to give with the book, I’m sure she won’t be able to resist getting her crochet hook out on Christmas Day:)
So cute! A lovely gift.
Wow that’s so adorable! Think I might have to have a little look on Amazon for this book. I’d love to make stuff like this instead of predictable blankets, although I could keep making those for years to come yet! X
Thanks Vicki! It really was a quick and fun little make 🙂
Totally adorable and the sail fabric is perfect. I was tempted to buy the book already and think you might have just tipped me over into buying it.
I couldn’t resist this book either, but I am trying to hold off making until I have got all the Christmas makes done! x
That’s probably a good idea! 🙂
Adorable! Love your sailboat with the real ones in the background.
Thankyou Veronica 😊 I’m lucky to live near a large marina and it provided a good photo opportunity!
That is so precious! Your daughter will be delighted, I’m sure 🙂
Thankyou 😊
That is too cute!
Thankyou 😊
How adorable! Your pictures are great with the cute little toys in the boat. Love it!
Thankyou 😊
What a cute little boat! 🙂
