Crochet for a Salty Sea Dog!

Meet Salty, our much loved family dog! She’s a Miniature Schnauzer and yes she’s wearing a crocheted bandana!

For those of you who saw my post last week you may remember I didn’t want to waste a triangle sample which didn’t pass the requirements for the International Diploma in Crochet which I am studying for. Well this is what I turned it into 😊. I added extra double crochet rib rows at the top to wrap around Salty’s dog collar, gave it an orange double crochet trim and finished it off with an orange crocheted starfish from a pattern in issue 20 of Simply Crochet magazine!

It was a quick and easy project and I’m really pleased with the result- I think it looks great on her…

Salty is 4 years old and has been a part of our family since she was an 8 week old puppy. She’s a wonderful addition to our family and brings us all a lot of joy although she can be naughty!

Coastal living is great for Salty – her walks are ever changing depending on the tide. Exploring rock pools when the tide is out and dipping her paws (she’s a reluctant swimmer) when the tide is in.

As you can see from these photo’s the weather has been fabulous during the last week up until yesterday when it took a drastic autumnal turn – rain and wind prevails once more! But I don’t mind, it somehow makes snuggling indoors with crochet to hand that little bit cosier…

Happy Crocheting!
