Meet Salty, our much loved family dog! She’s a Miniature Schnauzer and yes she’s wearing a crocheted bandana!
For those of you who saw my post last week you may remember I didn’t want to waste a triangle sample which didn’t pass the requirements for the International Diploma in Crochet which I am studying for. Well this is what I turned it into 😊. I added extra double crochet rib rows at the top to wrap around Salty’s dog collar, gave it an orange double crochet trim and finished it off with an orange crocheted starfish from a pattern in issue 20 of Simply Crochet magazine!
It was a quick and easy project and I’m really pleased with the result- I think it looks great on her…
Salty is 4 years old and has been a part of our family since she was an 8 week old puppy. She’s a wonderful addition to our family and brings us all a lot of joy although she can be naughty!
Coastal living is great for Salty – her walks are ever changing depending on the tide. Exploring rock pools when the tide is out and dipping her paws (she’s a reluctant swimmer) when the tide is in.
As you can see from these photo’s the weather has been fabulous during the last week up until yesterday when it took a drastic autumnal turn – rain and wind prevails once more! But I don’t mind, it somehow makes snuggling indoors with crochet to hand that little bit cosier…
Happy Crocheting!
Fabulous! Looks fantastic on Salty xx
Ahhh, Thankyou Naomi 😊 xx
Very cute! An interesting re-use of a rejected sample – I haven’t made anything of all my samples that didn’t make the grade. Will have to get my thinking cap on..
The triangle idea came to me quickly but I’ve no idea what to do with a square of double trebles! 😊
Fun project and cute dog!
Thanks 😊 x
Squee! That is epic cute! Hello Salty 🙂
Thankyou 😊 x
She looks so cute and it’s good that you were able to use the reject (I can’t see anything wrong with it) My friend has a schnauzer and she is so well trained she responds to hand signals! Lovely dogs
Thanks Kay 😊 yes they are lovely dogs. Not sure we’ve trained Salty well enough to respond to many hand signals but that’s more about our training than her ability! However, she does wait when I hold my hand up!
What a cute crocheted bandana! I haven’t crocheted in years, I do all kinds of sewing. I would like to take it up again if I could ever find the time.
Thankyou Maureen, if only we had more time! 😊
Super sweet. Now you just need to drink a salty dog while you walk a salty dog by the sea. 😉
Indeed!! 😊
Eleonora, what an amazing idea!! Salty looks so incredibly cute in her bandanna! x
Thankyou for your lovely comments Sharon 😊 Sometimes the simple ideas are best! x
Salty looks so cute.
Thankyou Norma- we think so too! 🙂
Lovely bandana, and Salty is also very good at modelling! 😁
Thank you!! 🙂
Salty is very cute. She looks like she loves your pretty bandana.
Thank you so much 😊 Salty is pretty easy going about me attaching a bandana to her collar!
Aw your dog is adorable 🙂 And the bandana is too cute!
Ahh, thankyou so much! 😊
