First Results…

I have now received feedback for the first three samples I submitted as part of the International Diploma in Crochet http://www.crochet.co.uk/diploma.htm and I’m thrilled to say that I got high marks and was told my work “is of such a high standard”! Coming from Pauline Turner (an expert in crochet) that is a huge compliment and boost for me. Yes I knew I could crochet and completing the course was never about learning to crochet for me, rather to perfect my technique and develop new skills. So onwards and upwards….

The first three samples were very straight forward. There are some samples I will need to submit that are totally new stitches for me to try so that will be interesting.

I have ordered more colours of Patons Merino Extrafine Cotton DK  online from the Scottish  McAree Brothers Knitting, Haberdashery and Crafts department store http://www.mcadirect.com/shop/

Living on the south coast of England, Scotland is far away from me but I would love to visit one of these stores in person one day.

The school holidays have begun here in England but the weather is not so summery and has had a rather autumnal feel to it over the last few days.

I hope to be able to show you photos with a calm and glistening sea soon. Let’s hope the summer weather returns…

Happy crocheting…

  1. Hate to be a know-it-all, but “told ya so”! Well done on such high praise from PT! Looking forward to your next submissions. Meanwhile, I’m awaiting what I hope will be my last project – I’m on tenterhooks!

  2. Y’know, I didn’t really find the swatches daunting, as they are small and quick to do. It’s the bigger projects that I had problems with – partly deciding what to do and trying to cover as many of the techniques as I could, but also the projects are larger and more frustrating if it goes wrong! Just remember to have fun with it..
