First Submission and a Little Coastal Colour Inspiration!

It’s been a busy few weeks in our household, with birthday celebrations amongst other things, meaning crochet time has been limited.

But I did manage to complete and submit my first three samples for the International Diploma in Crochet. I completed a square of double crochet, a square of trebles and a square of double trebles…

…and already I feel the benefit and value in completing these samples as part of the course. Never before have I concentrated so much on each and every stitch! Now I’m eagerly anticipating their return and the feedback I’ll receive.

Thinking about coastal colour inspiration, whilst walking our dog this morning I took these photos…

It’s been a dull grey day (our English summer has temporarily left us!) and the murky weather meant there were no sharp horizons and everything was rather hazy. It gives a totally different feel to a coastal walk.

The colours today were less about blues and more about greys, greens and whites…

…and sandy beiges!

So as always I am inspired by our coastal surroundings and I will add other coastal colours to future samples I need to submit. I’m keen to add grey into the mix as even the pebbles on our local beach are predominately greys.

Happy crocheting everyone and till next week…
